Specifications
Fullback® Thermal Support Panels
Thermal Performance:
The system "R"-value for a wall system with Fullback Thermal Support is determined by the ASTM C236 "Guarded Hot Box" method.
Fullback products demonstrate no thermal drift with age.
| Siding Profile | "R"-value |
|---|---|
| D-4" | 3.3 |
| D-4.5" | 3.7 |
| D-5" | 3.4 |
| D-4" Dutch Lap | 3.6 |
| D-4.5" Dutch Lap | 4.0 |
| D-5" Dutch Lap | 4.0 |
| Triple 3" | 3.7 |
| 8" Horizontal | 3.0 |
Density:
Nominal 1.0 pound per cubic foot (test method ASTM C303).
Water Permeability:
Not less than 5.0 perm/inch maximum (test method ASTM E96). Fullback breathes and is not a vapor barrier.
Water Absorption:
Less than 2.75% by volume (test ASTM C272). When submerged underwater for 24 hours 0% - when used in an actual sidewall application.
Flammability:
Fullback is fabricated from modified Expandable Polystyrene, which is treated with a fire retardant chemical and will not support combustion. Although "Modified EPS" contains a flame-retardant agent, it is an organic material and should therefore be considered flammable if exposed to an open flame or ignition source.
Capillarity:
None
Dimensional Tolerances:
Thickness + or – 1/16"
Width + or – 1/16"
Length + or – 3/16"
Tested & Proven:
Fullback meets or exceeds all the requirements of SPI specification ASTM C578-01(type 1) and is recommended to be used with vinyl siding meeting VSI specification ASTM D3679-02 standards.
Warranty:
The structural integrity and the thermal performance of Fullback
is backed by a double lifetime warranty.
Safe to use:
Fullback is considered a green building material by the environmental
community. Fullback products are environmentally friendly and
fully recyclable. They are constructed from inert organic materials
and
contain no HCFCs,
CFCs, HFCs or Formaldehyde.
Thermal Expansion:
Fullback is very compatible with vinyl siding due to their nearly identical coefficients of expansion and contraction. Fullback's coefficient of thermal expansion is .000035 in./in./degree F. Vinyl siding will range from .000031 to .000036 in./in./degree F.
